When I lost my job, I was desperate. But then out of the blue, I received an invitation from the library to a programme known as ‘Walk and Talk’. I had no idea what to expect, but I decided to attend anyway.
It was an eye-opening experience. Walk and Talk is about talking to other people, sharing experiences. It helped me gain confidence. The Walk and Talk team helped me prepare a two-minute pitch for practicing job interviews. They helped me big time.
By practicing my pitch and improving my resume, I walked into my interview feeling like I could take on the world. And it worked.
I found a job thanks to the library.
