Almost four years ago I moved from Kraków to Dobczyce, taking along my collection of old radios. After I retired, I suddenly had plenty of time to do other things. I was wondering what I could do. But I felt like I should share my passion and the knowledge I had built up over the years of my life.
Together with the library director, we got the idea to organise an exhibition of the radios I had brought with me, and a lecture about the topic. Initially just one talk was planned, but because there was so much interest, many have followed since.
At some point I asked: Who would be interested in a workshop, to learn how to make a radio yourself? And everyone’s hand went up! So we organised a series of workshops, “From radio to iPod”. Participants are aged 7 to 70 and they are delighted to be able to assemble and put into operation a radio themselves. Seeing that on their faces makes it very gratifying for me as well.
